Will The Real Reagan Republican Please Stand Up?

The top tier GOP candidates seem to all be putting on their Reagan comb over’s these days, and I don’t think that there is a stylist in the world that could cover up their big spending liberalism. What could be worse then watching a bunch of Big Government Neo Cons drop the Reagan bomb over and over again on every campaign stump and debate across the country? I am sure Reagan is rolling over in his grave.

What these GOP hacks need to understand is that the countries conservative base is in love with Reagan’s conservatism, optimism, and communication. The real red state conservatives are sick of the welfare mindset of today’s youth, and despise the “Soup Kitchen of Welfare state” that Reagan so eloquently rejected in speech.

Will the real Reagan republican please stand up? The mainstream conservative is so out of whack that they would call the only true conservative in the race a liberal.

Ron Paul is by far the most conservative of any of the top tier candidates running under the GOP ticket, the man the Neo-Cons despise so much is the only chance they have at bringing them back to their core values and saving their party. If they can’t see this, then are they even worth saving?

We are supposed to be Neo-Conned into believing that a man who believes in limited constitutional government, a return to sound monetary policy (in part abolishing the fed), who has never voted to raise taxes, and voted against the patriot act which robs us of our civil liberties is not a conservative. But a pro-abortion, money wasting, social program loving Rudy Giuliani is the model conservative? Maybe today that is true.

It seems to me that today’s republicans are the liberals of 100 years ago. Today’s liberals are the socialist of 100 years ago, and Libertarians are the conservatives of 100 years ago.

There just isn’t any conservative choice outside of Ron Paul.

I know some of you feel that the Patriot Act is essential in protecting us... and I am sure that there are very few parts that are acceptible. But I am reminded of a statement that Benjamin Franklin quoted:

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
