Google Trends Proves Ron Paul is a Top Tier Candidate
SPREAD THE WORD

Google Trends is a tool from Google Labs that shows the most popularly searched terms from the beginning of 2004 to now.
Google Trends charts how often a particular search term is entered relative the total search volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages. The horizontal axis of the main graph represents time (starting from some time in 2004), and the vertical is how often a term is searched for relative the total number of searches, globally. (Thanks Wikipedia)
The following is a chart with all of the "Main Tier" candidates:

Unlike most internet tracking devices such as polls which people claim that Ron Paul supports spam, this is a highly scientific and tamper proof way of tracking what percentage of actual individuals reference or search for a given term across the internet.
Most interesting about Ron Paul's success is how he handily beats all contenders with only Fred Thompson even coming close, here is the order as far as Google Trends is concerned:
- Ron Paul
- Fred Thompson
- Mitt Romney
- John McCain
- Rudy Giuliani
You will also notice by looking on the area of the chart that says "News Reference Volume" (the bottom half) that Ron Paul is dead last, which means he has the least coverage by online news sources (ie. Fox, CBS) but he still has managed to spread message via the internet better then any other candidate.

Post a Commenthe actually gets a decent amount of ink in some of the print outlets...national review this month.
September 17, 2007 12:20 PMto say he is spreading the news via the internet ignores the meetup groups, the grassroots organizing, the shirt i am wearing right now, and the many other non traditional methods we all use to promote him. it also feeds to erroneous idea that his admireres are gaming the system as regards polls.
Many people are promoting Ron Paul because, via the historical information immediately available on the web, he is the only candidate who has been consistent throughout his entire political career. I checked out the websites of other candidates and none have the voting record detail, the bills introduced detail or issue stance detail that Mr. Paul has. He is the first candidate I have put a sign on my front yard for.
September 23, 2007 9:56 PMHey, if the networks won't give up their obvious conflicts of interest, how about if more of us put out yard signs and wear t-shirts. I added a bumper sticker to my car and I am leaving Ron Paul business cards in restaurants and airports. If you agree that Ron Paul may be the only one who is fearless enough to take on the Federal Reserve rape, the FBI and Pentagon boondoggles and the ridiculously embarrassing Illegal Iraq Police Action, order some Ron Paul stuff and spread it around.
Togetherness on the Internet DOES make a difference.
